I’m finding that with a lot of these 30 Days of Books posts, it’s tempting to come back to old favourites – I’ve deliberately tried to pick reasonably recent reads (within the last year) rather than harping back to the same books again!
Day 7: Most underrated book
I found this really hard, because this year I’ve read a lot more books based on recommendations – last year I spent more time just browsing bookstores waiting for something to jump out at me (whether I’d heard of it or not!). So I’m afraid this is an older pick, and I chose… The Dragonlance Chronicles: Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night, Dragons of Spring Dawning. This is a great series and yet I’ve never known anyone to read it!
Day 8: Most overrated book
I would have to say the most overrated book I’ve read recently was Clockwork Angel(Cassandra Clare). My review will be up soon but suffice to say I wasn’t very impressed. I didn’t hate it, I just didn’t think it compared to The Mortal Instruments series – or most of the other books I’ve read this year. I found it slow to get into, and although I really enjoyed the last 100 pages or so, that just isn’t enough for me. Plus, I’m sorry, but I just can’t get behind a protaganist who doesn’t eat chocolate!
