Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted at The Broke and The Bookish where they post a list idea and everyone is welcome to post the list with their own answers. This week’s theme is “Top Ten Favorite Books I Read Before I Was A Blogger”. In no particular order, here they are!
1. Pawn of Prophecy – The first in David Edding’s Belgariad series, these are the books to get me hooked on fantasy! The best feature of Eddings’ books are the characters, who you can’t help but root for. The first book is a little slower than the others, but it’s a nice introduction to the series and it introduces one of my favourite fictional characters ever.
2. Assassin’s Apprentice – Robin Hobb’s fantasy novels are a firm favourite of mine, and although her latest series has become my favourite overall, this was my favourite prior to starting the blog, and it’s a great place to start.
3. The Pact – My Sister’s Keeper is the Jodi Picoult novel everyone’s heard of, but The Pact is probably my favourite. Picoult’s characters are always complex and you can’t help but get drawn in by both Emily and Chris.
4. Wolf of the Plains – I was convinced historical fiction was not for me, until my dad forced me to read this one year. I expected it to be dry and boring (particularly since I knew nothing about Genghis Khan), but it’s a great, engrossing and emotive novel.
5. A Game of Thrones – Not sure I need to say anything about this one, as you’d have to have been living under a rock to have not heard of it!
6. Poison Study – Maria V. Snyder is another favourite, particularly since so many of her books follow feisty, strong heroines.
8. Harry Potter & The Half-Blood prince – No list would be complete without a Harry Potter! My family were disappointed by this, but it remains my favourite of the series!
9. Bitten – Another series with a great heroine, Elena is a witty, razor-sharp journalist who also happens to be the only female werewolf.
10. Uglies – This is probably the first dystopian series I ever read. The concept of becoming a Pretty at 16 is both novel and somewhat chilling.
Great list. The Belgariad, The Magician’s Guild, Harry Potter, and Bitten were great series which I too came across in my pre-blogging days.
The Pact made my list too, I really enjoyed the characters. Great list
I enjoyed THE PACT, the Uglies series and, of course, HP as well. Great picks!

The Pact is a great book from Jodi Picoult, definitely one of my favourites. It didn’t make my list this week but Nineteen Minutes did.
Uglies was also the first dystopian novel I read too, but I have yet to complete the whole series despite owning all the books. I loved it at the time, but since them I have read a couple more dystopian novels that rank higher for me, although none of them made my list this week because I read them whilst being a blogger.
I think no one’s list this week is complete without HP!
