Stacking the shelves

The Weekly Recap (#21)

This week on the blog

Three books for me this week, all purchased.  I bought City of Fallen Angels and The Rain from Amber, who was clearing out her shelves and only asked for £3 for postage for two books which was fantastic (and must have taken hours).  I’ve read City of Fallen Angels but didn’t own it, and I love the sound of The Rain, though I haven’t had a chance to start it yet.

I also bought a signed copy of Emperor of Thorns from Mark Lawrence who was selling various paperbacks of his, with signatures, in exchange for a donation to the Children’s Hospice charity: a signed book for a great cause, for basically the same price as Amazon…How could I argue with that?!

My Week

This week has been great! I drove up to visit Matt last Saturday, and since then we’ve mostly been preparing for his project and spending some time together.  We watched some films, went out for dinner with his housemates, went to the zoo, (FINALLY) saw X-Men Days of Future Past, and generally had a lovely week.

I dropped him off at the airport yesterday and he won’t be back until August, so I’m keeping myself busy to try and make it seem quicker!  It’s back to work for me tomorrow – boring, but good in terms of earning money and keeping busy!

  1. Eeeep, I can’t believe I STILL haven’t gone to see X-Men Days of Future Past! I hope you LOVED it! Your new books look really great too, I’ll have to look up Emperor of Thorns – I don’t think I’ve heard of it before but it seems right up my alley 😀 Oh and I hope you’re enjoying City of Heavenly Fire too!! Cheers xx

  2. I haven’t heard of The Rain before, but I just read the premise on Goodreads and it gave me goosebumps! Sounds like it could be a really good book-just added to my TBR list 🙂
