Top Ten Tuesday (#65): Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To In 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted at The Broke and The Bookish where they post a list idea and everyone is welcome to post the list with their own answers. This week is  freebie so I’m focusing on “Top Ten Books I’m Looking Forward To In 2015” (which I think is a previous topic I missed).  I’ve talked about 2015 debuts I’m looking forward to already, which is why there aren’t debuts on this list.

New series

A Court of Thorns & Roses: I’ve seen so many good comments about this one, and the Throne of Glass series became an instant favourite.  I’m not sure I’ll love this one as much as Throne of Glass, but I’m definitely curious enough to give this a go.

Standalones

Crimson Bound: I adored Cruel Beauty, Rosamund Hodge’s debut, a fantasy retelling of Beauty and the Beast.  I’m hoping that Crimson Bound, a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood, will love up to my expectations.

Armada: This sounds very Ender’s Game, which I loved, and it’s by Ernest Cline, whose Ready Player One I loved, so I feel like this has lots of potential to be a great read!

Carry On: I love love loved Fangirl, so Carry On has great potential.  On the other hand, it’s very different to Fangirl too, so I’m a little nervous about this one at the same time.

Sequels

Conspiracy of Blood and Smoke: I really loved Prisoner of Night and Fog, with it’s fantastic cast of characters and it’s atmospheric writing, and I’m excited to read more by Blankman.

Throne of Glass 4: No surprises here, given how much I enjoyed Heir of Fire and how much I adored Manon!  This is one of my most anticipated this year for certain.

Fool’s Quest: My love for Robin Hobb is no secret, and Fool’s Assassin, the first book in her new series, was brilliant. I loved returning to Fitz and the Fool remains one of my favourite characters ever, so I can’t wait to read this one.

The Liar’s Key: Prince of Fools, the first in this trilogy, was a fantastic surprise last year, and ended up being one of my top ten reads of the year.  I loved Jalan and Snorri and can’t wait to return to their world.

Shadow Study: Another of my top authors, Maria V. Snyder writes wonderfully addictive stories with fabulous worlds and three-dimensional characters.  I can’t wait to return to Ixia in Shadow Study!

Chimera: I absolutely loved Parasite, the first of this series.  It was my first Mira Grant book, which led to a binging of her other books and put her instantly on the favourites list.  I didn’t enjoy Symbiont, the second book in this series, quite as much, but I’m still very much looking forward to Chimera.
