You may have noticed that there hasn’t been a whole lot of posts on Geeky Zoo Girl recently, and I’ve been pretty much completely absent from Twitter/commenting/the blogosphere in general.
I’m not in a blogging slump just a ‘where-did-all-my-time-and-energy-go?’ sort of slump! I spent all of Christmas revising for my exam, then had exactly one weekend off (which was filled with catching up with friends I didn’t see over Christmas thanks to revision) before going straight back to uni, lectures, and more assignments. My lecturer assured us that uni work is going to take up literally every waking moment from now until our project starts, which sums up how crazy this term is!
Unfortunately, as a result, I don’t feel like I’ve had any time to switch off and relax really, and I’m now spending any free time worrying about all the things I should be doing! I have so many things I want to post about and so many books I want to read, but I feel like I can’t because I should be working. Except my brain is too frazzled to do any work, so instead I mostly just get stressed and be very unproductive!
Obviously, this is bundles of fun 😉
I realise this post sounds a bit whiny, but I honestly don’t mean it to – I’m not enjoying being so stressed but I am loving the course. I’m just trying to explain why the blog is a bit quieter than usual.
I’ve decided, as part of my ongoing target of better uni/life/blogging balance, to take a sort-of blogging diet, because blogging is one of the things I genuinely can give myself permission to take a step back from (unlike, say, difficult assignments!). From now until the end of February (the last half of which I’m away for), I’m planning to only post two or three times a week. If I get time for extra blogging or scheduling ahead then great, but if not, I don’t have to feel as guilty as I have been for posting so much less frequently! I will however, be making more of an effort both on Twitter and in terms of commenting, because I miss being social 😉
