Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted at The Broke and The Bookish where they post a list idea and everyone is welcome to post the list with their own answers. This week is “Top Ten Books I Can’t Believe I Haven’t/Want To Read From X Genre”. Instead of focusing on a genre, I’m looking at the dreaded TBR list, and I’ve chosen ten books from my shelves that I can’t believe I haven’t read yet!
First in a series
Two of these [The Cuckoo’s Calling & The Knife of Never Lettting Go] were gifts that I really wanted to read, but for one reason or another have been putting off. American Gods has, to be honest, been on my shelves so long I can’t remember who bought it, and I bought both Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Under The Never Sky but haven’t started either. These are all books I hear good things about, and should just hurry up and get started on already!
Ocean was a gift, and although I was so excited for it, I’ve still not started it (admittedly not helped by the fact it’s on Matt’s iPad rather than mine). We Were Liars is one I wasn’t actually particularly bothered by, but then I heard so much fuss about it and it was on a deal, so I picked it up. I’ve still not started it, and I think the most amazing thing about that is that despite all the fuss I’ve managed to avoid spoilers! I bought myself wonder as a treat when Matt was away at uni but haven’t started it, and both Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell and The Handmaid’s Tale were bought on a deal, but I haven’t got around to either, though I really should!
