Top Ten Tuesday (#69): Top Ten Books I’d Love To See As Movies/Tv Shows

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted at The Broke and The Bookish where they post a list idea and everyone is welcome to post the list with their own answers. This week is “Top Ten Books I’d Love To See As Movies/Tv Shows”. I took part in this topic back in September 2013, so I’ve only included books I’ve read since then.

Books/series I’d love to see as films:

1. Pantomime
Pantomime has an unusual, beautiful setting and a great cast of characters, so I’d love to see that translated onto film (though definitely more in the style of Water for Elephants than The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus)

2. The Martian (review)
I’m not sure how well this one would translate to film, because so much of it takes place in Mark’s head, but then again, Castaway was fantastic so….

3. Graceling
Kick-ass female lead and gorgeous setting? Of course I want to see this as a movie!

4. The Girl with all the Gifts (review)
I’m not generally a fan of scary films, but I adored The Girl with all the Gifts, which manages to be totally unique in a genre which can feel same-y, and I’d love to see it on screen (which in my head is basically a movie version of The Last of Us game)

5. Crimson Bound (review)
I actually preferred Cruel Beauty to Crimson Bound but I feel like Crimson Bound would make a great movie thanks to the vivid settings and the pacing.

6. Ready Player One (review)
This one is actually already being made into a film (as is The Girl with All the Gifts) but I’m including it anyway! I loved the story, the fact it was just such fun, and the characters were brilliant.  I can’t wait to see how this one looks on the big screen.

7. Unwind
I didn’t love Unwind, but I did like how unique it was so I’d be really intrigued to see it.

3 series I’d love to see as TV shows:

1. A Discovery of Witches (review)
I’m just getting stuck into the final book in the series and remembering how much I enjoyed the other books.  Some of the relationships and plotlines can be a little complicated, so I definitely think this would work better as a TV show so things can be revealed slowly and given the time they need!

2. Feed
I adored this whole series, and would love to see Georgia and Shaun’s banter on screen!

3. Red Rising (review)
My love for this series is no secret so it’s probably not a surprise to see it on the list! I’ve picked TV show rather than movie mostly because I want to see all the cast of the characters and because I want to drag it out as long as possible 😉

What books would you love to see as films or TV shows?
