Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted at The Broke and The Bookish where they post a list idea and everyone is welcome to post the list with their own answers. This week is “Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For the Rest of 2015”.
Armada | I loved Ready Player One, so I’m really excited to read Ernest Cline’s next book too. I’ve heard mixed things about this one, but I’ll definitely be reading it to make my own mind up!
Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls (no cover) | So a mysterious contemporary isn’t the sort of thing that usually makes it onto my most anticipated lists, but I’m pretty intrigued by this one. Suicide or murder?
Fool’s Quest |This is one of my most anticipated books for the entire year, so no surprises it’s on here! I have yet to read a Robin Hobb I don’t like, so you can bet I’ll be pre-ordering this one.
Court of Fives | Scandalous friendships, fantasy world, athletic competition – this has so many elements that could make it epic, and I’ve heard brilliant things about it.
Queen of Shadows | My other most anticipated read of the whole year. From the first book, this has become one of my favourite series, and I can’t wait to read Queen of Shadows!
The Girl in the Spider’s Web | This is one I’m not actually that excited about – for one thing I can’t remember much from the original trilogy! – but that I know I’m going to have to read anyways, because I enjoyed the first three and I’m interested to see how the story continues with a new author behind it.
Carry On | I want to love Carry On, but I’m also nervous about it – it seems younger than Fangirl, and although there’s two boys on the cover, I seem to remember that Baz and Simon don’t get together in the books, that in Fangirl the fanfiction of the two of them was rather like Draco/Harry shippers, which means it’s not necessarily LGBT. I’m just a bit skeptical I guess!
Ice Like Fire | I enjoyed Snow Like Ashes but at the same time it didn’t have the punch I was expecting it to – probably because I was mid-reading slump when I read it. I really liked the story though, so I’m hoping for a better connection to Ice Like Fire (and may re-read Snow Like Ashes first).
A Madness So Discreet (no cover) | I didn’t love Not A Drop To Drink, but I can’t resist A Madness so Discreet – crime, mystery, an insane asylum, it sounds so good!
The White Rose | The White Rose is going to make or break this series for me – I liked the story of The Jewel, but I wasn’t convinced by the world building and I had mixed feelings about the characters. Despite that, I really liked the politics between the duchesses and the cliffhanger ending has me very excited to read The White Rose!
Chimera | Since discovering the Newsflesh trilogy, Mira Grant has gone on my auto-buy list, and I wasn’t disappointed by the new Parasitology series. I can’t wait to read Chimera and find out how it all ends!
