Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted at The Broke and The Bookish where they post a list idea and everyone is welcome to post the list with their own answers. This week is “Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far In 2015”. I’ve read some great books this year, but at the same time, I won’t be surprised if only a few of these make it onto the Top Ten Books of 2015 overall, because while they’re all great, they’re definitely not all new favourites!
Series started this year
Steelheart: an audiobook listen I absolutely loved. I went straight on to read Firefight and can’t wait to read book 3.
The Rain: The Rain was a bit strange, perhaps not the most unique dystopian I’ve ever read but ultimately addictive!
The Name of the Wind: it took me a while to get into The Name of The Wind, but I enjoyed it, and I’m adoring the second book at the moment.
Shadow Study: I love Maria V. Snyder’s worlds and characters, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know a little more about Valek.
The Book of Life: I thought The Book of Life was the perfect finale to the trilogy, and although I’m sad the series had to end, I loved the way it did.
The Invasion of the Tearling: While I didn’t adore The Invasion of the Tearling, I liked the unusual feel to it, and it’s stuck with me since reading it.
Crimson Bound: An addictive, dark, atmospheric retelling, a little let down by the ever-present love triangle though.
Leaving Time: I love Jodi Picoult books, but I’m often frustrated by the endings. Leaving Time was by far one of her most satisfying novels to date, and of course I love the fact there are elephants. A new favourite.
The Happiness Project: This was an early audiobook read this year and I loved it. It’s stuck with me, to the point I’m considering doing my own Happiness Project!
Our Zoo: Our Zoo was pretty much guaranteed to be a success for me, and I really enjoyed it. I’ve been to Chester Zoo and loved it, and it was fascinating to read about how it came to be.
