Top Ten Tuesday (#74): Last Ten Books That Came Into My Possession

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted at The Broke and The Bookish where they post a list idea and everyone is welcome to post the list with their own answers. This week is “Last Ten Books That Came Into My Possession (bought, library, review copies)”, a theme that works pretty well for me since June’s been busy with Harry Potter month and I haven’t done my usual weekly wrap ups!

The Saint & The King – purchased – kindle copies
Something about Tiffany Reisz’s series has me hooked – I love getting absorbed into the kick-ass Nora Sutherlin’s world, but the series is something of a guilty pleasure!  I finished the first four a while ago, and didn’t start the second quartet at the time, but I wanted something addictive to read over the weekend and picked the first one up on Kindle.  Then I got a £5 Amazon Gift card so that promptly went on the second book!

Off to be the wizard – Purchased – audiobook
I’ve not had much luck with audiobooks over the last couple of months – I adored Steelheart, Firefight & Ready Player One, but haven’t found anything else to really hook me since, so I’ve been hoarding credits a bit.  I did some searching around and saw lots of recommendations for Luke Daniels, who narrates Off to Be the Wizard, and a few people who suggested Off to Be The Wizard was a good read for people who loved Ready Player One, so it seemed like a good choice.

Armada – Review copy – Kindle

Given how much I loved Ready Player One, I of course couldn’t wait to get my hands on Armada, so I was thrilled when this popped up on NetGalley.  I can’t wait to read this one.

Alice in Zombieland – Library – ebook

I was browsing my library’s ebook catalogue this week when I was bored and stumbled across Alice in Zombieland, which I’ve been curious about for ages but not yet managed to read.  I also noticed it’s 59p on kindle right now (!) so I’ll probably pick up a copy if I enjoy it.

Storm Front – Purchased – audiobook

Another audiobook that has lots of dedicated fans, I’m not sure how much the plot of this interests me, but I’ve been debating buying it for ages since people RAVE about James Marsters narration.  His actual accent (as opposed to his Buffy accent!) is going to take some getting used to though.

Indexing – Purchased – audiobook

As well as my audible credits, I also had a £10 audible voucher, some of which went on this.  This was an impulse buy really, just because I love everything I’ve read by Mira Grant but have run out of backlist, and someone suggested her work as Seanan McGuire was also worth a go.

Countdown – Purchased – Audiobook

Another impulse buy with what was left of my audible voucher.  I don’t really tend to buy novellas but I adored this series and it fitted perfectly with what was left of my voucher so it seemed like fate!

Enchanted Forest – Purchased – Physical Copy

I’ve been admiring people’s adult colouring books in twitter for ages, and I picked this up on a whim in Sainsbury’s recently when I was feeling particularly stressed!  I haven’t done very much of it yet, but I’ve enjoyed some relaxing evenings colouring in (slowly!)

Vicious – Purchased – Kindle copy

This was a kindle deal recently and I’d heard such great things about it I figured it was worth a go! I’ve not started it yet but I’m assured it’s great 😉

  1. I’m going to listen to Armada on audio as soon as I finish what I’m listening to right now. I loved Ready Player One! I hope this one is as good.

I’m one of the huge Dresden fans too. James Marsters does a great job with the narration. It is a great series that just keeps getting better in each book.
