Harry Potter month

Harry Potter Month readathon

As you may have heard, Micheline and I are hosting Harry Potter month throughout the month of July – a celebration of all things Harry Potter! You can post about pretty much anything Harry Potter related, take part in the House Cup at any time throughout the month, and – new for this year – we have the Harry Potter readathon element!

  • For any book you finish during July that fits in with a prompt below, you’ll earn 20 House Points!
  • If you complete all of the prompts associated with a particular Harry Potter book you get an additional 25 bonus points.
  • If you finish all 8 books, you can claim an additional 50 bonus points
  • You can read more than one book per prompt if you want to
  • [Graphic novels are worth half as many points because they’re so quick to read in comparison to a novel]

  • Read a book with a great friendship

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince:

  • Read a book that you expect will make you cry
  • Read a book with an anti-villain (or someone who’s doing the wrong things for what they feel are the right reasons)
  • Read a book with a romance element

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:

  • Read a series finale
  • Read a book with an anti-hero
  • Read a book with unrequited love

  • Read a book where the main character travels far from home

If you want to claim the points for a book you’ve finished, just head on over and leave a comment the same way you would for any other points! And yes, you can totally claim points for a post with your readathon goals too 😉
