Despite being back at work I had a pretty good reading week, helped by a great reading weekend! I’ve been aiming for 30 books in 30 days throughout April and while it’s looking less and less likely that’s going to happen (5 books and 1 day to go and I’m working…) I’ve enjoyed mixing my titles up so much while I try and hit it. From audiobooks on my run in the morning to a quick lunch break with a graphic novel to something longer in the evenings. Little Darlings was a NetGalley read, and The Handmaid’s Tale one I’ve just meant to read forever and never got around to. Magician’s Gambit and Catching Fire were both re-reads, and Y: The Last Man and The Sandman #1 were both available as part of my kindle unlimited trial. I have to say I enjoyed all my reads this week, though I’d say the Eddings remains my favourite!
Mixing up my reading some more with a non-fiction title, How to Live Vegan is all about tips for (shockingly enough) being vegan, whether that’s all the time, or swapping a meaty meal for a plant-based one. I’ve talked before about why I gave Veganuary a try and how I enjoyed it but veganism wasn’t for me at the moment, but we’re really keen to reduce our impact on the planet and eat more plant-based meals as opposed to meat ones, so I thought this’d be a great read!
Someone recommended this to me, and it’s part of the Kindle Unlimited trial so I figured I’d give it a go. Plus, it should be a nice quick read… you know, just in case I can somehow pull off those 30 books in 30 days!
