What’s on in May?
I mean honestly, at this point, who knows?! I’m a teacher, so I’m currently working from home so still plenty busy, but it looks like we may be going back sooner rather than later? Not sure! Either way, May is going to be a much busier month that my super successful April which had the Easter holidays and let me get loads of reading done. On the other hand, now that we’re staying at home without access to the library, this seems like the perfect time to work on my physical TBR as well as my ARCs and review copies, and I really want to keep the momentum up on that. I’ve also been really enjoying bookstagram so I want to keep going with that.
- Count up my physical TBR – I need to do an update count up of exactly how many books I own but have never read
- Create a complete ARC Apocalypse list like this awesome one!
- Read at least 2 books from my physical TBR
- Read at least 1 review copy
- Write and schedule three reviews
- Post at least 20 times on bookstagram
I’ve got a bit of a mix of titles on my TBR this month, and I have to admit I’m hoping to read more than what is on here. I like leaving a little bit of space in my TBR for mood reads and impulse choices!
First up, I’ve got a couple of ongoing re-reads that I’ll be working on or completing: The Hunger Games, Harry Potter & The Belgariad. I’m hoping to finish both The Hunger Games and The Belgariad, but we’ll see! I’m trying to drag Harry Potter out as I’m buddy reading it and we’re trying to stay in sync!
📖 Review copy | 📚️ Owned | 🎧️ Audiobook | 📄 eBook
📚️ 🎧️ Mockingjay (448) | 📚️ 📄 HP 2 (384) | 📚️ 📄 HP 3 (480) | 📚️ 📄 HP 4 (448) | 📚️📄 HP 5 (816) | 📚️ Castle of Wizardry (448) | 📚️ Enchanters End Game (640)
In terms of review copies, I’m hoping to prioritise these two, both out next month. I’ve been really enjoying the Serena Valentino series so I want to keep going with that as I’ve been so much more hooked than I expected. I’m not sure why but I’m intimidated by The City of Brass (it’s been on my shelves forever) and in May there’s both a Discover Daevabad readalong & it’s the book club choice for Read Rate Review, so it really just feels like I should get on with it! Finally, The Bone Witch is one I’ve heard such amazing things about, and it’s free as part of the Audible stories promotion right now so why not?!

So looking back, this seems WILDLY ambitious but er, aim high right?
