Inspired by…Lace

Today’s outfits are inspired by lace, a huge trend last year, but which I’ve not really tried out much.  I’ve come up with three different outfits, for different budgets and scenarios – hopefully they’ll inspire you, even if they aren’t a perfect fit for your personal style.

Look #1: Lecture appropriate

Lace top | Faux Leather Jacket | Skinny jeans | Total cost: £19.99

This is a really simple, easy outfit which would work for casual occasions like a lecture or lunch date, or even semi formal ones like small group tutorial sessions.  Although there aren’t any shoes (meaning it isn’t technically a full outfit), I refuse to believe ANYONE would struggle to find a pair of shoes in their wardrobe to match!  Simple black, white or blue flats would be perfect for a lecture, while a pair of white summery wedges could dress it up for a lunch date.

Look #2:  Ready for a night out

Necklace | Earrings | Belt | Shoes | Dress | Blazer | Clutch | Total cost: £29.04

I will be the first to admit, I don’t really like pink….but I found this blazer on H&M and just couldn’t resist finding a way to incorporate it!  The blazer is now listed as out of stock depressingly, but it’s still in stores, and there’s alternative colours still online. All of the accessories here could be just swapped to match your colour.  A simple black lace dress is dressed up by switching out the belt for a pink one, which matches the blazer, clutch and necklace.  A pair of black slingback heels and some simple stud earrings polish off the look for a sophisticated night out look.

Look #3: Evening out with the girls

Top | Shoes | Necklace | Earrings | Shorts | Total cost: £39.99

This outfit would be perfect for a night with the girls.  Whether you’re heading off to a pub garden for cocktails, or a house party, this look screams summer.  The white lace shorts are balanced out by the relaxed top, and the shoes are such a fantastic colour they can get away with being plain.  Cheap, simple accessories tie the look together.

Do you like any of these looks? If so, which is your favourite?

I think mine’s probably look #2, purely because the pink is such a deviation from my usual style!
