TGIF & Feature & Follow (#5)

This Friday’s Feature & Follow question (hosted by Parajunkee’s View and Alison Can Read) is:

Q: Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

My reading habits definitely change on my moods – firstly, my mood can effect the genre/style of book I want, but it can also effect the physical type of book I want, since when I’m grumpy I tend to want the comfort of a physical book rather than an e-book.
When I’m cheerful I read whatever I fancy, but when I’m unhappy I tend to want comfort reads – re-reads of books I loved.  When I’m angry or grumpy I tend to want dystopia or ‘issue’ novels.

TGIF is a weekly feature hosted at Greads.

The question this week:

Book Olympics: In the spirit of the Olympics, which books would you give the gold, silver, and bronze medals to? It can be from any genre, new or old.

I’ve read some great books this year, and it was hard to narrow it down to three, but so far this year:
Gold: Storm of Swords part 1 (George R.R. Martin)
Silver: Leviathan (Scott Westerfield)
Bronze: Insurgent (Veronica Roth)

  1. Your comment about wanting a physical book when grumpy is very interesting, and the first time I’ve heard something like that today. Maybe it’s because you’d rather have something in your hands that’s run by your moving fingers, not a rechargeable battery at those times? Muy interesante….

P.S: I’m a new follower! Don’t be afraid to fearlessly visit my “Frivolously Follow Me this Friday!” post. Many thanks to you!
