Top Ten Tuesday (#15): Top Ten Books I’d want on a deserted island

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted at The Broke and The Bookish where they post a list idea and everyone is welcome to post the list with their own answers. This week the theme is 10 books I’d want on a deserted island.

I’m assuming by the way that I don’t have to fight for survival/that my other half is probably with me, because else I’d almost certainly die. I’d get eaten by cannibals or starve or eat poisonous berries or something.  I’m also assuming there’s some shade to hide in too, or else I might just be the first person genuinely cooked by sunburn, given that I’m so pale I’ve been burnt in Glasgow (seriously!).

Old Favourites
Polgara the Sorceress

2. Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince

3. Assassin’s Apprentice (The Farseer Trilogy – Book 1)

The ones I’ve never got around to
A Suitable Boy

5. The Phantom of the Opera

To get lost in
6. Wolf of the Plains (Conqueror 1)

7. Dragonlance Chronicles(I actually own these in a one book collection, so I’m permitting myself to take all of them)

8. A Dance With Dragons: Part 1 Dreams and Dust

9. Meant to Be
And just because…
10. A Fifty Shades-esque book – who knows how long I’m on this island for?! Besides, it’s deserted, so I can read all the lowbrow material I like without judgement 😉

Besides, if there was ever a time to experiment with a genre you might not like – this is probably it!

  1. I had the Half Blood Prince too! It’s my favorite of the series 🙂 I just finished Meant To Be and it was SO CUTE. I would totally revise my list to add that because I really think it became one of my favorites!

  2. I’d be too nervous to waste one of my 10 on a genre I didn’t love. You are a brave gal! Though I must admit I cheated on this top ten. lol. So there you go. I’d be finishing the Song of Fire and Ice series on my island as well. nice picks 😉

  3. Yey Dragonlance Chronicles!! I seriously debated them, but I didn’t want to not be able to take all of them and drive myself crazy xD Those books are wonderful!

I’m a new follower 😀 Here is my TTT
