Top Ten Tuesday (#35): Top Ten Books I’ve read so far in 2013

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted at The Broke and The Bookish where they post a list idea and everyone is welcome to post the list with their own answers. This week the theme is Top Ten Books that intimidate me but I’m catching up with Top Ten Books i’ve read so far this year!

Ink (Review): A wonderfully creative fantasy set in Japan, I couldn’t put this one down.

Splintered (Review): Picked up because of all the amazing reviews, this didn’t disappoint. A gorgeous debut with fantastic world-building.

Butter (Review): A horrifying but fascinating tale about bullying, loneliness, suicide and self-confidence, this one lingered in my mind long after reading.

Being Me (Review): A steamy romance with a gripping mystery and twist-filled plot. This is the second in the series and I’ve loved both so far.

Mila 2.0 (Review): Android girl and blockbuster action, need I say more?

Masque of the red death (Review): Wonderfully evocative, you can practically see the plague infected world Araby lives in.

Dare You To (Review): Fantastic characters and slow-building believable passion.

Blood of Dragons: Robin Hobb remains one of my favourite authors and I think this has been one of her best series. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this and it definitely didn’t disappoint!

A Dance with Dragons: After the Feast: I know everyone says it, but they say it for a reason: A Song of Ice and Fire is one of the most dramatic, gripping fantasy series I’ve read, and A Dance with Dragons was one of my favourites.

The 5th Wave: This managed not only to creep me out (I’m a huge wimp, and I stupidly started this one night whilst home alone in a big old house), but also to make me think, and to make me emotional.

I’m very curious to see how many of these will make it to my top ten of the year. I feel like I’ve read some great books so far, so can the second half of the year live up to that?

What have you read and loved so far this year?
