Top Ten Tuesday (#66): Top Ten Books I Read In 2014

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature hosted at The Broke and The Bookish where they post a list idea and everyone is welcome to post the list with their own answers. This week’s topic is “Top Ten Books I Read In 2014”. (Also, I know it’s Wednesday, oops!)

This is a really tough week, and it could easily turn into weeks and weeks of analysing (in fact, it’s been in the back of my mind for a while). Instead, I’ve gone through my list of books read in 2014 and picked purely on gut instinct – no looking over reviews or anything complicated, just the ten that most stood out to me as books I really loved.

The Sci-Fi

Andy Weir – The Martian (my review)
Pierce Brown – Red Rising (my review)
Ernest Cline – Ready Player One (my review)

Deborah Harkness – A Discovery of Witches (my review)
Kristin Cashore – Graceling
Sarah J. Maas – Heir of Fire (my review)
Rosamund Hodge – Cruel Beauty (my review)
Mark Lawrence – Prince of Fools (my review)

Everything Else!

Anne Blankman – Prisoner of Night and Fog (my review)
Rainbow Rowell – Fangirl (my review)

What were your top reads this year?
