Monthly recap

March Wrap-Up

This month I finally finished that huge assignment I’ve been working on and revised for my exam this month.  It’s been a hectic month so there’s been pretty much no blogging, but I did get some great books read.  I’ve only got one more assignment in April before I’ll be starting my dissertation, which will be plenty busy but deadline free, so I’m very much looking forward to getting more blogging time!

Books read: 7 (3 more than February)
Pages read: 2536 (486 more than February)
Average pages per day: 81 (8 more than February)
Favourite: Shadow Study

Films, TV & Podcasts

Only a few things for me this month thanks to revision and assignments, but I got a few movies in 😉

Firstly I saw Chappie with a few friends which I loved! I was so hooked by the story straight away, I loved Chappie himself and I thought the film was brilliantly done.  It was dramatic, it was funny, it was heart-warming and heart-breaking.  All in all – a success!

Then I took my sister to see Home which I thought was okay but I wasn’t wowed by it.  I think it suffered for being the first kids film I saw since Big Hero 6 which was fantastic.  Home was nice, but I just didn’t connect with it very much.

We started watching Bad Neighbours at the weekend with the family, but 40 minutes in we gave up – might have been more of a success if we hadn’t watched it as a family? But mostly everyone was just cringing and not laughing so we gave up on that.

Instead, we put on Maleficent which I didn’t have high hopes for, since the reviews weren’t great, but which I actually liked.

Other than that, I’ve just seen a few episodes as part of our Game of Thrones rewatch ready for Season 5.

  1. YAY for finishing your HUGE assignment! I’m sure you’ll do great 🙂 And it looks like you also got quite a lot of reading done! Lots of those are ones I still need to read myself: Firefight, The Cuckoo’s Calling, Not a Drop to Drink…and the Study series. And I actually loved Maleficent – one of my favorite Disney adaptations! Glad you enjoyed it too^^ Lovely haul too, I hope you enjoy all your goodies xx

    1. Thanks Micheline 🙂 I’m mostly just SO glad it’s over. I really enjoyed both Firefight and The Cuckoo’s Calling. I liked Not a Drop to Drink but I didn’t love it which was a bit of a surprise. I’d recommend the Maria V Snyder’s for sure though – I love her characters <3

Yeah my little sister saw Maleficent when it came out and didn't seem very impressed so I didn't have high expectations but I thought it was brilliantly done. Also a MUCH better fit for family movie night than Bad Neighbours was! xx
