Monthly recap

April Wrap-Up

April was for working on my last uni deadline for a while, doing my last exam, starting on my dissertation, and taking a bit of time to chill and relax!  A pretty good month for reading, and a pretty average one for blogging but I’m pleased to say that I’ve got a few things scheduled for May already.  Although May will be very busy with my dissertation, I’m definitely feeling a little bit less stressed, and I won’t be commuting, so I should be a bit less frazzled than I have the last few months!

Films, TV & Podcasts

I feel like I’ve watched a huge amount of TV and movies this month – and a lot of it has been great!

Cinema-wise I think I’ve only seen one film this month, which was Avengers: Age of Ultron (of course).  I really enjoyed it, and I’m going to see it again at the weekend with a friend, which will give me a chance to really make my mind up about it – will it be awesome the second time?!  At home we also watched Now You See Me, because I know loads of people who raved about it and I still hadn’t seen it.  They were right, it was awesome!

I’ve seen loads of TV this month too.  Obviously we’ve been watching Game of Thrones Season 5, which is really interesting now that it’s starting to diverge from the books so much – Matt’s already admitted he’ll end up taking the TV as canon because it comes first, but I’m really not sure!  Anyway, despite the divergence from the books, we’re enjoying it a lot!

We’ve also been watching Smallville, which we saw almost all of and then stopped watching towards the end of uni (2 years ago!) and haven’t picked back up again!  We’re finally getting around to season 10 now, so this should be one we can complete next month!  Agents of SHIELD remains our Friday night fix.  I’ve seen some complaints about it, but I’m really enjoying it, and I think this season is definitely better than the first.

I might have been taking advantage of working on my dissertation from home now to finally get started on a few shows I’ve been curious about but never seen…. I started Nashville, which I’ve seen the first few episodes of now and am enjoying, but not hooked on.  Worth sticking with?  Also on my list of might-watch are The 100, Revenge, Extant and Daredevil.  Any recommendations for me?!

Obviously once the dissertation work picks up, I won’t be able to keep up my TV watching during the day (I’m almost treating this week as a bit like a mini-holiday) but I’ll at least be able to watch an episode over lunch, so I’m definitely open to recommendations of what to watch!

  1. You have a glorious haul here and did pretty amazingly with your reading this month, despite still having school stuff to take care of! Honestly, I’m a bit envious of you, I was never able to read for fun when I was in Uni so having a blog would have been a miserable fail on my end back then LOL! I’m actually planning on starting up Daredevil and The 100 soon-ish. Sooner for Daredevil because I’ve heard so many good things about it 😀
