Looking Ahead: June 2015

What’s on in June?

This year seriously seems to be flying by!  I can’t believe we’re already halfway through the year and about 12 weeks from my dissertation deadline (hmm, reality check I could have done without perhaps).  I don’t have much planned for June really – lots of dissertation work as always.  My birthday is towards the end of the month so I’m sure we’ll do something for that, and we’ll definitely be spending some time at the cinema – Jurassic World! Minions! – but my only other real life plans for the month involve doing some planning and prepping for Harry Potter Month.

Last month’s TBR list

Invasion of the Tearling| CompletedKing of Thorns | DNF
The Book of Life | Started

Read & unplanned

The Rain | Completed
Day Four | Completed
Our Zoo | Completed

May was one of my least successful months so far since starting the monthly TBR lists – despite really wanting to like it, King of Thorns and I just couldn’t get on, and I spent longer than I probably should have trying to force it! I didn’t start The Book of Life until the last few days of May, but I did read Invasion of the Tearling as well as three unplanned books – The Rain from my TBR, and Day Four and Our Zoo from the review pile.

June’s TBR list

The Book of Life | Review Copy
The Wise Man’s Fear | Borrowed
Mystery book | To be decided

I’ve started The Book of Life and I’m really enjoying it, so I’ll definitely be continuing that throughout June.  I’ll also be starting The Wise Man’s Fear, though I can’t imagine I’m going to get that one finished this month on top of The Book of Life as well.  The final book on my list this month is whichever book goes on to win my Series Snapshot poll!

What do you have planned for June?

  1. I’m glad it’s not just me. I feel like LIFE is flying by at an incredible pace. I know they say time flies as you get older but man, sometimes I feel like yelling SLOW DOWN -.- Yay for June being your birthday month and YEAHH Jurassic World sounds amazing 😀 I didn’t read much in May either, if it helps. Something about planning the trip to NYC, going and then coming back with books made me feel overwhelmed and caused me to pretty much stop reading altogether. I’m hoping I can get back into it soon though. You definitely did better than me in that department! *crossing my fingers that The Raven Boys win your Series Snapshot Poll* LOL
