Monthly recap

January Wrap-Up: a good start to 2017!

I feel like January has kind of flown by to be honest, although when I think back to everything that’s happened, I realise it’s hasn’t really.  We kicked off 2017 with a fairly low-key party, which was very relaxed and a lot of fun.  I’ve made a reasonably good start on my resolutions so far, although there’s always room for improvement.  There’ll be more details in my Bookish Resolutions check in but a quick recap: I lowered my goodreads goal to 75 books this year, because I wanted to take the pressure off and allow myself to read longer books, which seems to be working so far.  I’ve read 9 books in total, so I’m currently 3 books ahead on my goal, and last year only 12% of my books were over 500 pages, and 55% were over 300, this year I’m at 20% and 70% so far.  I’ve reached week 3 of C210K, scheduled a few reviews and lost ~5lbs, so not a bad start to the year!

The Broken World | Strange The Dreamer | Countdown | One of Us is Lying | Shadow and Bone | A Street Cat Named Bob | Small Favour | Siege and Storm | Ruin and Rising

Watching & Gaming

We saw La La Land which – unpopular opinion time – I liked but didn’t ultimately love. We also saw A Monster Calls which I enjoyed, Moana which I adored, and I’ve watched a lot of TV, but see my Netflix & Books January progress for more on that!  I also played 8 hours of Planet Coaster which isn’t loads but I’m feeling pretty good about my attempt to spend more time on gaming so far!
