WWW: 25/4/19

WWW is hosted by Taking On a World of Words and it’s all about sharing what you’re currently reading with the rest of the blogosphere!

So I’m writing this very late and back-dating it, which means it looks like I’ve read more in the week since my last update than I really have (this is actually about 10 days worth of reading!), which means I actually have quite a few books to talk about! My reading has all been focused around the OWLs readathon, and as of writing this I only have one more OWL left to get so fingers crossed! Last time I took part in WWW I was reading The Disasters – this was my latest audiobook pick through Scribd and it was a quick fun read but didn’t wow me.  I then picked up The Slow Regard of Silent Things, because it’s been on my shelves forever but I’ve never got around to reading it. I’m still not honestly sure what I thought of it; it’s definitely different!  I started Ben Fogle’s Labrador as my next audiobook choice, and although non-fiction isn’t always as addictive as fiction, I really enjoyed it!  Finally I started Zodiac Starforce Volume 1 because it was available through my local library and I was really struggling to find a book with ‘star’ in the title on my shelves (for the Astronomy OWL). Loved the art, and overall it has a very Sailor Moon-esque vibe: very readable, but I’m not desperate for the second.

Currently Reading

I’ve just picked up Nyxia Uprising for the last OWL I need – I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to get it finished by the end of the month but I’m certainly going to try! I loved the first two books so I have high hopes for this too, I’m just struggling to find time now that I’m back at work.  My latest audiobook read is The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle which was a Waterstones book of the month a few months ago, and which I bought as part of an audible sale a while ago. I didn’t really know what I was in the mood to listen to, nothing was jumping out at me on Scribd and I had no audible credits so I went combing through what I’d already bought on audible and decided Seven Deaths was it!

Up next

I’m hoping to get Nyxia Unleashed finished this week, if so I’m not sure what my next physical book will be but I might finally start that re-read of Throne of Glass I’ve been talking about for months! Audiobooks-wise, I’m still waiting on a new credit from audible so it’ll largely be down to what jumps out at me from Scribd/my audible collection when I finish Seven Deaths.
